Read the verb

The active Monolith task tells you what the game expects next. "Banish," "Baptise," and "Forge" are not just flavor: they point toward the town system you should inspect.

Monolith objectives serve as your primary progression compass. They unlock new content, guide town upgrades, and ensure you are developing in the optimal order. Ignoring them leads to wasted resources and stalled progression.

Key objective types explained

Banish objectives: Direct you to the Prison system. Typically involve removing (banishing) unwanted heroes to make room for better recruits or to complete specific challenges.

Baptise objectives: Point to the Temple system. Involve using Ancient Blood to level up heroes through Baptism. These objectives often appear when you need to strengthen your core team.

Forge objectives: Guide you to the Workshop for gear improvements. May involve forging new items, embedding runes, or refining equipment quality.

Do not pre-spend

If the objective has not asked for a material sink yet, keep rare resources available. The optimal action can change when the next objective is revealed.

Resource hoarding strategy:

• Keep Ancient Blood ready for Baptism objectives

• Save Sacred Bones for Workshop upgrades when Forge objectives appear

• Maintain a gold reserve for Prison upgrades before recruitment pushes

• Do not spend materials on sidegrades when the Monolith is pointing elsewhere

Use it as a route planner

Complete the objective, collect the reward, and immediately reread the next one. This creates a clean loop through systems without relying on outdated guides.

The Monolith progression flow:

1. Read the current objective carefully

2. Identify which town system it references

3. Complete the minimum action required

4. Claim the objective reward

5. Check the next objective before spending resources

6. Repeat
